Snickerdoodles
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
2 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
In a large mixing bowl, cream the 3/4 cup sugar and butter with a
spoon. Beat in the egg and vanilla. In a small bowl sift together flour,
salt, baking soda and cream of tartar. Stir into butter mixture until well
mixed. Combine 2 tbsp of sugar and the cinnamon.
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 2 cookie sheets with nonstick vegetable spray.
Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll each in the sugar cinnamon mixture.
Makes about 36 cookies.
