Old Time Ginger Bars

2 cups sifted all purpose flour

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp ginger

1/2 tsp cinnamon

2 eggs

1 cup sugar

1 cup light molasses

1/2 cup dairy sour cream

1 cup finely cut dates

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Sift together dry ingredients. Beat eggs until light. Gradually add

sugar, beating until fluffy. Add molasses and sour cream and beat well.

Gradually blend in sifted dry ingredients. Fold in dates and nuts. Spread evenly

on greased 15x10 jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes.

Cool on wire rack. If desired, frost with powdered sugar icing.

Cut into bars or squares. Makes about 3 dozen
