No Fail Pie Crust
3 cups all purpose flour
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup shortening
Mix flour and salt, cut in shortening to cornmeal texture.
In seperate bowl, mix:
1 egg
6-9 tablespoons cold water ( depending on egg size)
1 tsp vinegar.
Add to dry ingredients
Makes 3 single pie crusts. Divide dough and roll out on slightly floured surface.
It does not take a lot of flour to roll this crust out. If you have extra dough
left this crust is great for simple chocolate or cinnamon rolls. Just butter top of crust
and sprinkle wtih cocoa and sugar, or cinnamon and sugar.
Roll up and bake until golden. Kids love them.
