Maraschino Pear Jam

6 cups finely chopped peeled pears

3 tbsp lemon juice

7 1/2 cups sugar

1 lb 4 oz can crushed pineapple, drained

3/4 cup maraschino cherries

Mix pears, lemon juice and sugar in large pot. Cook over low heat,

stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved. Cook over medium heat,

stirring occasionaly, for 15 minutes, or until pears are tender and syrup

thickens. Stir in pineapple and cherries; cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.

Pour into hot sterilized jars; seal at once.
